A Weekend in Edinburgh

My beautiful friend Kara moved to our capital city about 6 months ago, and it has only taken me this long to go and visit her. ps. you should go visit her blog over at The Coffee Diaries.

Having lived in Edinburgh during my Uni years I would say I am pretty familiar with the city. During my time there I usually kept to the regular spots: Morningside, Princes Street, Grassmarket and Musselburgh (where my campus was located). When she told me she was living in the totally adorable area of Stockbridge I was really excited to go down and explore an area that I had never set foot in.

We started the day with a walk down past the river where we came across the unbelievably picturesque Dean Village. I had seen photos of this little haven online but the don't do it justice. I couldn't believe we were in the middle of the 2nd largest city in Scotland. No noise, no hustle and bustle, just the sound of the Water of Leith. Beautiful.

We then made our way to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.  There was actually an exciting exhibit on all about surrealist artists. Unfortunately we weren't able to go and have a peek but it is showing until September so there is definitely time for me to go back soon.

No I wasn't creeping on some tourists - these are actual some eerily realistic wax dummies. Took me a few mins to realise that they were not alive!

Of course I had to pop into the A─ôsop store and snap a pic of their post-poo drops. Call me a child why don't you! ha.

Stockbridge is one of the nicest areas of Edinburgh. I am obsessed. Filled with cute boutiques, wine bars and independent book shops you have to have a wander around the next time you're there. Especially if you want to get away from the tourists!

I am ending this post with a picture of a scrumptious cake because why the hell not! Yum!

Jo Malone | Limited Edition Nashi Blossom Cologne

It's no surprise that I love Jo Malone. The brand just seems to get me. Beautiful perfumes in beautiful packaging = my favourite thing ever. Way back in May I got my hands on the limited edition Nashi Blossom Cologne.
The fragrance is described as juicy, joyful and radiant. It is zesty but not overpowering and it's oh so refreshing.

Top Note: Lemon
Heart Note: Nashi Blossom
Base Note: White Musk

Just look at that bottle! It is beyond beautiful. Will definitely not be throwing out when I've run out.

I don't know about you but I tend to go through perfumes like there is no tomorrow. I only spray it on once a day but for some reason I run out so quickly! I normally go for the 30ml sized bottles at Jo Malone, as pictured here.

They are super handy for my handbag and all, but they just don't last long enough. Think I might have to step up my game and buy the bigger sized bottle next time! Let's be honest...there's always going to be a next time.

The smell is divine and perfect for the summer. At this time of year you don't necessarily want a strong and OTT perfume, so Jo Malone has done it again when they came up with this beauty.

Have you tried any of Jo Malone's Limited Edition Colognes? What is your favourite fragrance to wear over the summer?

tarte Cosmetics Haul | Beauty

If you saw my post last week on the tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue you will have seen that I may have found my favourite beauty brand. That product looked so damn beautiful and I absolutely adored its application and texture. Definitely a winner.

It wasn't the only tarte product I purchased in Sephora however.

Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom.

I will say this again and again, but look at the packaging?!? So pretty. I do love a coral lipstick, and even though it isn't matte i'm really excited to wear this on a beautiful sunny day.

Coloured Clay Bronzer Blush in Peach Bronze

Tarteist Blush Palette

The four colours on this beautiful palette are: Live (poppy coral), Laugh (peachy coral), Love (nude mauve), Dream (soft fuchsia)

I have seen that these palettes are pretty hard to come by, especially for us living in the UK. So very lucky to have grabbed one of them.

Rainforest of the Sea Drench Lip Splash Lipstick in Beach Bum.

Don't let the name Beach Bum put you off. This shade is a beautiful dark nude. Right up my street.

I can't wait to use all these products in one go. Ok, I probably won't be using the two lipsticks at once but you get the picture. haha.

What are your favourite tarte products?!?! I really hope they are sold in stores in the UK soon. There is nothing better than seeing things in person before buying.
